At What’s Up, your privacy is important to us. Here’s what you need
to know about how we keep things confidential:
What you tell us stays between you and What’s Up
Everything you share is confidential
unless we’re worried that you or someone else might be in
danger.
If that ever happens, we might need to get extra help to keep you
safe — but we’ll always try to talk with you about it first.
You can ask us anything about this at any time.
Sometimes calls are recorded We may record
calls, but
we don’t listen to them unless we absolutely need to
(for example, to check something important or improve how we
help).
Your identity stays private.
We use information to help improve support for young
people We collect information so we can do things like:
understand what young people are dealing with
improve our service
advocate for better mental health support in Aotearoa
share general trends in reports or marketing
This never includes anything that could identify you, unless you’ve clearly given us permission.
You’re welcome to ask us more questions If
you're unsure about anything on this page, or want to understand
more about confidentiality, just ask a counsellor when you
connect.
We’re here to help you feel safe and supported.
